A flag representing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) was stolen from a North Bend business building the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 11, and the theft was caught on camera.
The building, on Bendigo Boulevard N., houses Pacific Crest Environmental and the North Bend Art and Industry’s Center for Creativity at 1531-1535 Bendigo Blvd. N. Images captured from security camera footage shows two individuals getting out of a black Chevrolet pickup truck and lowering the flag off of the flag pole.
The flag is specifically a Progress Pride flag, combining the traditional Pride flag with black and brown for people of color and pink, blue and white for the transgender community.
One of the Pacific Crest Environmental owners said they hope the community can “assist us in identifying and prosecuting these thieves.”
“Our whole team agrees on the principles of inclusivity and equality for all, as such, we feel saddened and somewhat violated today,” the owner said. “However, we are undeterred — a new flag is on order and will be flying again soon!”
