King County Councilwoman Kathy Lambert slapped palms with Carnation Mayor Lee Grumman at a July 1 ribbon cutting ceremony for a new trail linking downtown Carnation with the large, popular, county-owned Tolt-MacDonald Park.

“I’m thrilled — it couldn’t be better,” Grumman said. “This trail has been on our economic development plan for the last few years and is a key piece to bringing the park into town.”

Carnation and King County teamed up to build the 1,100-foot trail, which cut a 30-minute trek along a state highway to a 10-minute, park-like stroll into the city.
