Two hikers who didn’t return from a Thursday, May 26 hike were reported found around 11 a.m. Friday morning.

The father and son were reported to be stuck in an area southwest of Little Kulla Kulla Lake. King County Search and Rescue officials say they’ve contacted the pair and they are uninjured. Search and Rescue sent a technical rescue team to help them.

Henning and Paul Braess are experienced hikers visiting from Germany, the King County Sheriff’s Office reported. They were unfamiliar with local terrain, however and when they didn’t return from their hike Thursday, there was concern over how well-equipped they were to get through cold, wet weather; the temperature in the area was reported in the 30s. State patrolmen found their rental car at the Mason Lake/Ira Spring trailhead, which prompted the search.
