King County Sheriff’s Office investigate student’s threat in Carnation

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the King County Sheriff's Office began investigating a threat made by a student of Tolt Middle School in Carnation to three other students.

On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the King County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a threat made by a student of Tolt Middle School in Carnation to three other students.

Sergeant Cindi West, media relations for the Sheriff’s Office, said the incident happened off-campus at Valley Memorial Park. One of the students was reportedly trying to pick a fight with another student, when he fell off his bike. He threatened the other students before riding off.

Riverview School District Superintendent Anthony L. Smith sent an email to parents, staff and community members informing them of the situation and said that the district takes every threat seriously.

“Tolt Middle School and the Riverview School District take all threats seriously, as student, staff, and community safety are of highest importance to our school and district,” Smith wore in the email.

The case is being investigated by the King County Sheriff’s Office and will be forwarded to the Juvenile Prosecutors Office for review.
