Author to hold MS book signing

Snoqualmie Valley author Patrick McIntyre will hold a book signing for his book, “Bouncing Back from Multiple Sclerosis,” 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Nature’s Marketplace in North Bend.

McIntyre’s book describes his efforts to learn about and deal with multiple sclerosis, or MS. The book lists his steps for controlling the disease, including dietary rules, networking, prayer and meditation, and massage.

Wellness Center to host open house

Bendigo Wellness Center will be hosting an open house, 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28.

Visitors can meet staff and welcome new practicioners at the clinic, located at 231 Bendigo Blvd. N.

Bendigo Wellness provides naturopathic medicine, massage, counseling, esthetics and nutrition consulting. The open house includes skin care samples and a gift basket raffle.

Pool instructor earns career award

Washington Recreation and Parks Association recently awarded Bridget O’Connell with their 2009 Outstanding Professional award.

O’Connell is currently the Aquatics Supervisor for Si View Metropolitan Park District in North Bend. She has been in the aquatic industry for 20 years. O’Connell said she loves what she does and enjoys sharing her passion for aquatics with employees. She helps her peers achieve higher levels of certification
