Hot rocks

Roy Brieman, executive chef at the Salish Lodge, has added a new dish to the menu this season that he said was "inspired by the area." The dish is called Snoqualmie River Hot Rocks and features an assortment of meats, seasonal garnishes and marinades that are cooked at the table on special heated rocks. Brieman collected the rocks out of the Snoqualmie River and then had them split and polished. He said each rock gives off its own unique aroma.
