Snoqualmie’s Emergency Operations Center will send out radio and reverse-911 alerts shortly, letting residents in low-lying neighborhoods know of an impending flood.

City of Snoqualmie spokeswoman Joan Pliego said a phase III flood on the Snoqualmie River is expected to crest at about 36,000 cubic feet per second late tonight.

“We’re not expecting flooding of houses or evacuations,” Pliego said. However, authorities want residents in neighborhood such as Pickering Court and Northern Street to understand that their streets may become inaccessible. Residents are asked to move their cars to higher ground.

A reverse-911 alert was planned for affected areas on Wednesday afternoon, March 26. A broadcast was also planned for AM 1650.

Free sandbags will be available for residents at the North Bend public works shop, 1155 E. North Bend Way, and at the King Street lot in Snoqualmie, at the corner of Railroad Avenue and King Street.
