This summer, the Snoqualmie Fire Department is offering parents a free window stop set in order to prevent accidental falls from windows.

The fire department said it receives two to three calls about children who fell out of windows every summer. These falls have lead to serious, life threatening injuries.

The department’s summer campaign offers parents window stop sets, plus education on how to prevent window falls from occurring. Some of the tips offered include keeping furniture or anything climbable away from windows and to teach children to play away from windows.

The program was formed in partnership with Safe Kids Washington and the Central Region EMS and Trauma Care Council.

The window stop sets are available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Snoqualmie Fire Station. For more information call (425)-888-1551 or send email to Lt. Jake Fouts at jfouts@ci.snoquamie.wa.us.
