Family History Workshop comes to the Ridge

To meet growing interest for family history that is now sweeping the communities of North Bend, Fall City, Snoqualmie and neighboring areas, the Snoqualmie-Fall City Family History Group held its first workshop last month at the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA.

To meet growing interest for family history that is now sweeping the communities of North Bend, Fall City, Snoqualmie and neighboring areas, the Snoqualmie-Fall City Family History Group held its first workshop last month at the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA.  More than 20 computers, connected to the Internet, were provided to give participants hands-on and one-to-one tutoring experiences. Participants created family history accounts online and learned how to record and access information in their quest to connect up with their ancestors.

They were also instructed in how to use the family history resources on the www.familysearch.org website. Future family history workshops are scheduled for every third Tuesday of each month at the Snoqualmie YMCA, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and will be free of charge. The next meeting will be held August 20. All workshops are open to the community, and no RSVP is necessary. For further information, send e-mail to snofallsfamilyhistory@gmail.com.
