Fall City man fatally shot in Federal Way

Officers found a suspect nearby and arrested him on the charge of murder.

A man whose last know address was in Fall City was fatally shot late Nov. 26 in Federal Way.

According to Federal Way Police Department Cmdr. Bryan Klingele, at about 10:17 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1900 block of South 320th Street outside The Commons mall. Klingele said that an officer was nearby and located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot.

Klingele said that an officer initiated a short vehicle pursuit with the suspect vehicle while other officers located the alleged victim nearby. Klingele stated that the alleged victim was a 26-year-old man whose last known address was in Fall City.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s decedent list, the alleged victim was Bailey Bryan Mullen. His cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, his manner of death was homicide and the location was outdoors.

“The pursuing officer was able to detain two suspects while officers attended to the victim,” Klingele stated. “Officers began life-saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.”

Klingele stated that one of the suspects, a 20-year-old, was booked in King County Jail on the charge of second-degree murder, and the King County Prosecutor’s Office will have the ultimate charging decision in the case. Klingele said that the second subject was interviewed and later released.

According to the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention jail lookup portal, the suspect is currently held on $2 million bail. His charge status is listed as in the investigation stage.
