Educators of the year announced; Honorees to be recognized at March 17 Schools Foundation luncheon

Four Snoqualmie Valley educators have been named the 2016 Educators of the Year, by the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation. Each of the winners was surprised by Schools Foundation staff and videographers with the news last week

The 2016 Educators of the Year are:

Ingrid Garhart, speech, hearing and language assistant at four district elementary schools, Classified Educator of the Year;

Nikita Armbruster, third grade teacher at Snoqualmie Elementary School, Elementary Educator of the Year;

Alexandra Clark, who teaches K-10 students in the Parent Partnership Program, Middle School Educator of the Year; and

Karen Rockow, special education and enrichment teacher at Mount Si High School, High School Educator of the Year.

They will be publicly recognized as guests of honor at the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation’s annual spring fund raising luncheon 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 17 at the TPC Snoqualmie Ridge.

This annual awards program celebrates outstanding educators in the Snoqualmie Valley School District who inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn, have earned respect, lead by example and play an active role in creating a positive scholastic environment. Educators are nominated by parents, students, fellow staff and community members. The Schools Foundation’s selection committee, comprised of local business and community leaders, reviews all nominations to determine who will receive this honor.
