Church break-in, stealing donations, computer hacker: Snoqualmie Valley police, fire calls

Helping themselves: On Sunday, May 26, a caller reported the theft of donated items from the Northwest Center truck he’d been driving in North Bend. The driver said he’d been talking with a man who’d asked whether the truck had any specific items. The driver said the truck was unoccupied for about 10 minutes while he left to use the rest-room, and the items were gone when he returned.

Monday, May 20

Church break-in: At 1:30 p.m., a citizen reported an attempted break-in, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, in the 39000 block of Southeast Alpha Street. Over the weekend, someone tried to enter the metal door on the northwest side of the building. They used a tool to pry  open the door molding, and then tried to push out the glass pane, which was cracked on the bottom.

Bad battery: At 4:55 a.m., a caller reported seeing a pickup truck on fire in the 8500 block of 384th Avenue. Police responded and called fire investigators. The vehicle owner had tried to put out the fire with a hose, but the fire spread quickly. The arson investigator determined the cause was not arson, but a failed battery that may have exploded. Damage was consistent with his statement.

Back way: At 5:22 p.m., a caller in the 200 block of Rock Creek Ridge Boulevard reported the theft of a car stereo. The thief apparently opened the trunk of the vehicle, where it was parked on a residential street, then crawled through the trunk into the passenger compartment to gain access. He stole the stereo, then left through the passenger door.

Theft: At 9 a.m., the manager of a business in the 300 block of East North Bend Way reported a theft that occurred overnight. The caller said the subject climbed the six-foot fence with barbed wire along the top, then cut the wires to the battery of a company vehicle.

Friday, June 3

Tabs, license and drugs: At 1:31 a.m., an officer on patrol in the 31000 block of Northeast Carnation Farm Road stopped a vehicle with expired tabs. The driver of the vehicle had a suspended license and was arrested. The officer also found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, which was added to the charges.

Hacking: At 9:20 a.m., police investigated a computer hacking incident in the 3700 block of Tolt Avenue, which had raised concerns with some citizens. The officer contacted the school where the incident occurred and found that administration had already dealt with the student who caused the problem.

Heads-up: At 10:26 p.m., an officer contacted the victim of an incident, a resident in the 32500 block of Northeast 50th Street, to let them know the subject was due to be released from jail.

Fire alarm: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to Mount Si High School for an automatic fire alarm. The alarm was set off by a faulty smoke detector and couldn’t be reset. The alarm technicianwas called for repair.

Sunday, May 26

Fire alarm: Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Zetec building for a fire alarm. Upon arrival, no fire was found and it was determined to be a detector malfunction. The alarm was reset.

Medical calls: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie firefighters responded to 11 medical aid calls, bringing the annual call number to 456.

Wednesday, May 29

Faintness: At 1:54 a.m., Fall City Fire Department responded to the 34800 block of Southeast 44th Street for a female with decreased level of consciousness.  The patient was evaluated and taken to a local hospital by private ambulance.

Shoulder injury: At 11:35 a.m., Fall City Fire Department responded to a 61-year-old woman who had a shoulder injury from a fall.  The patient was treated and taken to the hospital by a family member.

Car accident: At 8:11 a.m., Fall City Fire Department, Eastside Fire and Rescue and Bellevue Paramedics responded to a car accident with one patient.  The patient was placed on a backboard and taken to a local hospital by private ambulance.

Bike accident: At 12:35 p.m., Fall City Fire Department responded to the 27100 block of Southeast Duthie Hill Road for a 14-year-old boy involved in a bike accident. He was treated and taken to a local hospital by private ambulance.

Unconscious man: At 9:21 p.m., Fall City Fire Department and Bellevue Paramedics responded to the Preston-Fall City Road for an unconscious 30-year-old man with a possible drug overdose.  The patient was evaluated and taken to a local hospital by the Bellevue Paramedics.

Wednesday, May 22

Chest pain: At 5:53 a.m., Fall City Fire Department and Bellevue Paramedics responded to the 36200 block of Southeast 25th Street for a 63-year-old man with chest pain. He was evaluated and taken to a local hospital by the Bellevue Paramedics.
