Celebration of life planned July 9 for Adrienna Rasmussen

Adrienna "Annie" Rasmussen was born Aug. 10, 1997 in Federal Way. She died June 19 in Tucson, Ariz, after hiking in an extreme heat wave that killed five people over the weekend.

Adrienna “Annie” Rasmussen was born Aug. 10, 1997 in Federal Way. She died June 19 in Tucson, Ariz, after hiking in an extreme heat wave that killed five people over the weekend.

Rasmussen graduated from Mount Si High School in 2015. She had been on the Mount Si wrestling team during her school career and pursued interests in hiking, kick boxing, sports and fitness. She also worked at Mount Si Sports + Fitness for several years.

She had gone to Tucson to attend college and pursue a career in medicine. Adrienna had a heart of gold and an adventurous spirit. She was a social butterfly, loved by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her mother Teresa McClain of North Bend, Wash.; her father John Wheeldon of Bend, Ore.; five younger siblings, Keagan, Erica, Angelina, Connor and Cassidy. She is also survived by one grandfather, Jon Rasmussen, and three grandmothers, Karen Rasmussen, Mary Rasmussen and Kim Skogen, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Rasmussen’s life is planned for 4 to 6 p.m., Saturday, July 9, at Si View Community Center, 400 S.E. Orchard Dr. North Bend.
