Blotter: Not tipsy, just tired; car drives off with gas nozzle still in tank

Sunday, Jan. 30

DUI: At 9:49 p.m., police received a call about a pickup truck swerving in and out of oncoming traffic in the 700 block of S.W. Mount Si Boulevard, North Bend. Police contacted the driver and found that he was not driving under the influence, but instead very tired and the power steering on his truck was not working.

Monday, Feb. 1

Theft: At 8:22 a.m., a resident of Eagle Lake Drive S.E. called police to report someone had broken into their mailbox, stolen mail, and left ripped up mail under their doormat.

Tuesday, Feb. 2

Suspicious circumstances: At 2:07 p.m., an officer on patrol saw a man passed out in an alley on S.E. Newton Street and Railroad Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie.

Vehicle prowl: At 6:07 p.m., police got report of a broken car window and theft on Hemlock Avenue S.W., North Bend.

Thursday, Feb. 4

Drive-off: At 11:23 a.m., police received a report of a white minivan driving off from the gas station on the 8000 block of Douglas Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie with the pump handle still in the car. The driver came back to return the nozzle, then drove off again.

Friday, Feb. 5

Alarm: At 7:23 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were called to a home on S.E. Moses Street, for a carbon monoxide alarm. The home occupants were outside when firefighters arrived. Firefighters monitored the air and located the source of the alarm, a sump pump in the basement. They silenced the alarm and advised the homeowner to have the pump alarm repaired.

False alarm: At 10:30 p.m., the department was dispatched to Snoqualmie Ridge, where a retail alarm was sounding. There were no signs of a fire and shoppers had not been evacuated. Firefighters requested the Infusion Bar and Grill to evacuate until they could find the cause of the alarm. They searched the building but found no problems, so they reset the alarm and allowed guests to go back inside.

Saturday, Feb. 6

Smoke: At 4:45 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a report of a lot of smoke in a neighborhood, possibly an illegal burn. They found a homeowner burning yard debris in a makeshift burn barrel. They advised the homeowner that it was illegal to burn yard debris and had him extinguish the fire.

More smoke: At 4:50 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of an illegal burn in the back yard of a home, where they found a 10-by-10-foot pile of firewood and debris burning. They advised this homeowner of the burning rules in the city and had him extinguish the fire.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to seven medical incidents bringing the total number of calls to date to 96.

Fall City Fire Department

Friday, Feb. 5

Fever: At 4:44 a.m., Fall City firefighters responded to the 4400 block of 356 Avenue S.E. to assist a 7-year-old girl who had a high fever. They evaluated and transported her to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Pain: At 6:47 p.m., firefighters responded to the 4400 block of 356 Dr. S.E. to assist a 6-year-old boy complaining of neck pain. They evaluated and transported him to an area hospital.

Saturday, Feb. 6

Chest pain: At 12:26 a.m., the department was dispatched to the 34600 block of S.E. 56 Pl. to assist a 78-year-old man experiencing mild chest pain. He was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Natural fire: At 5:15 p.m., firefighters responded to the 4000 block of 324 Ave. S.E. for a report of an illegal fire. What appeared to be a small natural vegetation fire was out when the crew arrived.

Arrested patient: At 8:44 p.m., firefighters responded to the 26800 block of the Duthie Hill Rd. to assist the King County Sheriffs’ office with a patient in custody. The patient was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Sunday, Feb. 7

Overdose: At 10:03 p.m., Fall City firefighters responded to the 4300 block of the Preston-Fall City Rd. for a report of a 30-year-old man who had overdosed on drugs. He was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.

Monday, Feb. 8

Fall: At 10:39 a.m., firefighters responded to the 33100 block of S.E. 44 St. to assist a 93-year-old man who’d fallen. They transported him to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Tuesday, Feb. 9

Numbness: At 1:41 p.m., firefighters responded to the 1500 block of West Snoqualmie River Road to assist a 47-year-old woman experiencing numbness in her extremities. She was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Accident: At 5:07 p.m., the department was dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover accident in the 8700 block of the Preston-Fall City Road. One patient was treated and transported for minor injuries.

Wednesday, Feb. 10

Chest pain: At 10:07 a.m., firefighters responded to the 37100 block of S.E. 40 Street to assist an 85-year-old man experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath. He was evaluated and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Vertigo: At 12:51 p.m., firefighters responded to the 7900 block of 334 Avenue S.E. to assist a 63-year-old man experiencing vertigo. He was evaluated and transported to an area hospital.

Legal fire: At 4:26 p.m., firefighters received a report of an illegal fire in the 5500 block of the Lake Alice Road. They arrived to find that the fire was a legal, permitted burn.

Thursday, Feb. 11

Chest pain: At 4:10 a.m., firefighters responded to the 4700 block of 361 Avenue S.E. to assist a 77-year-old man experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath. He was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation and treatment

Fire: At 2:49 p.m., firefighters responded to mile post 45 on Interstate 90 to assist units with Eastside Fire and Snoqualmie Fire with a motor home fire.
