Blotter: Knife-throwing pair banned from Snoqualmie parks; Plastic bucket made smoky addition to family campfire

Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Saturday, June 3

Dispute: At 6:30 p.m., a man arguing with employees of a nearby business about a parking spot on the 14000 block of 468th Avenue SE, North Bend, was reported to police. Officers issued the man a trespassing notice and told him to leave.

Monday, June 5

Theft: At 11:12 a.m., an employee of a business in the 400 block of South Fork Avenue SW, North Bend, reported that a woman stole several pairs of shoes and drove off.

Disturbance: At 4:12 p.m., a traffic accident on E North Bend Way and SE Cedar Falls Way, North Bend, was called in to police. The driver of a Ford vehicle rear-ended a Kia. The Ford driver and his son were verbally abusive toward the Kia driver but apologized after police arrived. Officers helped the two drivers exchange information.

Noise Complaint: At 10:03 p.m., police received a report about a loud weed-whacker running on Pine Avenue SE, Snoqualmie. Later, the person complaining about the noise called police to report that it had stopped and no police were needed.

Theft: At 6:18 p.m., police were called to report of a shoplifter on the 400 block of SW Mount Si Boulevard, North Bend. An employee of the business said he followed the man, who had previously stolen and tried to return items from the store. The man ran behind the store but was detained by police, banned from the business for one year and booked into Issaquah County Jail.

Theft: At 9 p.m., thefts from multiple stores on the 400 block of South Fork Avenue SW, North Bend, were called in to police. Police caught the subject with the stolen items and booked him into Issaquah County Jail on four counts of theft.

Tuesday, June 6

Malicious mischief: At 10:25 p.m., a caller reported seeing a man and a woman with Bowie knives at a park on the 30000 block of SE Winery Road, Snoqualmie. The two subjects threw their knives at a bathroom sign, tore up the bathroom and climbed onto the roof. Both were banned from all Snoqualmie parks until Sept. 6.

Wednesday, June 7

Traffic stop: At 8:45 a.m., a driver on E North Bend Way, North Bend, backed into a patrol car, causing damage. The driver was arrested once officers discovered the man was driving on a suspended license and without a required ignition interlock device.

Thursday, June 8

Accident: At 2:09 a.m., a vehicle hit a curb and was disabled in the middle of the traffic circle on SE Cedar Falls Way and E North Bend Way, North Bend. The driver and passenger fled the scene.

Friday, June 9

Found property: At 11:11 a.m., a box with several pairs of eyeglasses and sunglasses was found in the middle of the road at the 1000 block of Boalch Avenue NW, North Bend. A witness reported the find to police, saying he saw it fall off a black SUV.

Suspicious: At 9:42 p.m., a group of people hiding behind a play structure on SE 11th Place, North Bend were reported to police. Officers found five minors smoking marijuana and detained them all for minor in possession and issued them a court summons.

Thursday, June 8

Fall: At 10:39 p.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs responded to a private home to assist a 72-year-old man who had fallen and was injured. He was transported in the Fall City car to a local hospital for treatment.

Sunday, June 11

Confused: At 1:25 a.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs were called at the request of the King County Sheriffs Office to assist in the evaluation of a 70-year-old woman who was confused. The patient was not suspected to be suffering from a medical emergency, and was left at home in the care of family members.

Short of breath: At 8:47 a.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs responded to a report of a 79-year-old woman who was experiencing shortness of breath. Medics from the Bellevue Fire Department also responded. The patient was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Monday, June 12

Stroke: 4:33 p.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs assisted a 91-year-old man who had fallen at home and was disoriented. The aid crew suspected that the patient might have suffered a stroke, and he was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Tuesday, June 13

Fall from roof: At 6:32 p.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs assisted a 45-year-old man who had fallen off his roof. The patient was in pain from the fall. Medics from Bellevue Fire also evaluated the man, who was then transported to a local hospital.

Wednesday, June 14

Low blood sugar: At 12:30 a.m., Fall City firefighters and EMTs saw a 31-year-old man who was experiencing low blood sugar. The patient was treated on scene, and when his blood sugar levels were raised up to acceptable levels, he was left at home.

Friday, June 9

Illegal burn: 10:39 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to an illegal burn on Meadowbrook Way SE. The crew responded and found thick, black smoke rising from the back yard. They contacted the homeowner who was already pulling a hose to extinguish the fire. She stated that her daughter had thrown a plastic bucket on their campfire. The crew thanked them for putting out the fire.

Sunday, June 11

False alarm:12:15 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to SE Leitz Street for a carbon monoxide alarm inside a home. The crew found the homeowner outside with a contractor, who said they were staining the floors, and the chemicals they were using likely set off the alarm. Firefighters investigated, and found no signs of the gas inside of the unoccupied house. The homeowner promised to contact the alarm company so the fire department wouldn’t be dispatched to carbon monoxide alarms there until the house was occupied again.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 12 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 500.
