Sunday, June 18

Theft: At 7:43 p.m., police received a report of a phone stolen from the 40000 block of SE North Bend Way, North Bend. The caller said the phone was taken when he left it unattended in a public restroom. Police were unable to locate the phone.

Tuesday, June 20

Theft: At 1:46 a.m., a teen shoplifter on the 40 block of SW Mount Si Boulevard, North Bend, was reported to police. The juvenile was apparently attempting to steal liquor. Police issued the subject a one-year ban from the store and called his mother to pick him up.

Wednesday, June 21

Harassment: At 1:51 a.m., an employee at a business on the 500 block of E North Bend Way, North Bend, reported multiple calls from an unknown caller using inappropriate language.

Thursday, June 22

Malicious mischief: At 11:12 a.m., police received a report of a car that had been egged on Swenson Drive SE, Snoqualmie. The car was not damaged.

Friday, June 23

Disturbance: At 10:37 p.m., police received a report of two people yelling at each other on the 100 block of E 4th Street, North Bend. The caller thought they had been drinking or were on drugs. When police arrived, they found a woman with a knee injury trying to walk home with the help of a friend.

Thursday, June 15

House fire: At 6:08 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a fire at SE Maple Street. The crew extinguished the fire and Eastside Fire & Rescue assisted in checking for extension of the fire. The home was unoccupied at the time except for two dogs, which were uninjured. The homeowner arrived at the house 20 minutes into the call. A King County Sheriff’s Office fire investigator was called and he determined the cause to be a discarded cigarette.

Smoke: At 9:39 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at Chanticleer Avenue SE. It was determined that a vape cigarette had activated the smoke detector.

Friday, June 16

Smoke: 4:49 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a commercial building in response to a smoke detector. They investigated and determined a compressor in the boiler room may have overheated and created some smoke. They noticed a smell that could have been a burnt pulley belt.

Saturday, June 17

False alarm: 12:22 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at the Venture Commerce Center. Upon arrival, the crew was met by a contractor onsite stating that he was sheetrocking when it went off. This is a recurring problem in that commercial space. The contractor said he reset the alarm before firefighters arrived. The crew checked the building and found no problems. They talked to the contractor about operating the alarm system and when he could and could not reset the system.

Tuesday, June 20

Vehicle fire: At 12:27 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters assisted Eastside Fire & Rescue in extinguishing a garbage truck fire at 456th Drive SE.

Thursday, June 22

False alarm: At 4:12 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to an accidental activation of an alarm system when the power went out to a building on Ethan Wade Way SE. Security was on site and evacuated the building. The crew was met by security and was directed to the ER where a bad smoke detector head was located. The alarm company was notified.

Vehicle fire: At 9:21 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to a possible car fire on eastbound Interstate-90. The crew arrived to find one car off the road with its hood up and a small amount of smoke coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle’s occupants had already put out all the flamed they could see. Firefighters used a hose to extinguish the rest of the smoke and to cool the engine.

Friday, June 23

Fire pit: At 9:51 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to a burn complaint on SE Fury Street. Upon investigation, the crew found a fire pit in the middle of the street surrounded by 10 people. They were informed that they could not have a fire pit in the middle of the street; however, they could move it to their driveway or back porch. They removed the fire pit.

Saturday, June 24

River rescue: At 6:10 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters assisted Fall City Fire Department with a swift water rescue in the Snoqualmie River at Fall City.

Monday, June 26

False alarm: At 12:57 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to Bracken Place SE for an automatic fire alarm. Upon investigation, they determined that a forklift tripped the beam detector setting off the alarm, and reset the system.

Tuesday, June 27

False alarm: At 1:20 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to an automatic fire alarm at Echo Glen Children’s Center. Maintenance had been working on the fire alarm systems the previous day and the crew found no reason for the alarm.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 14 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 555.
