Saturday, Feb. 20

Chest pain: At 7:40 a.m., the Fall City Fire Department responded to the Blakely Woods area where a 68-year-old woman reported experiencing chest pain. They determined that she was unlikely to have a cardiac problem and left her at home.

Faint: At 1:10 p.m., firefighters and EMTs from Fall City and Snoqualmie responded to the Lower Powerhouse area near Snoqualmie Falls for a report of a 52-year-old woman who had become faint and passed out while hiking. Firefighters reached her after a short hike up the hill, evaluated her and assisted her back down the trail. She signed a release form and chose to be driven to the hospital by her daughter.

Disoriented: At 3:18 p.m., firefighters and EMTs assisted an 88-year-old patient who had become weak and disoriented. The patient was evaluated and taken to a hospital.

Fever: At 11:22 p.m., the Fall City Department assisted a 20-year-old patient who had a fever and signs of an infection. The patient was taken to a hospital via private ambulance.

Sunday, Feb. 21

Faint: At 12:34 p.m., firefighters and EMTs were called to assist a 5-year-old patient who had become dizzy and fainted. The child was evaluated at home, and taken to a hospital.

Monday, Feb. 22

Fall: At 3:09 a.m., Fall City Fire responded to the Lake Alice area for a 74-year-old patient who had injured his leg in a fall. The patient was stabilized, carried out of the house and taken to a local hospital.

Smoke: At 5:36 p.m., firefighters from Fall City responded to the Preston area for a report of smoke in a private home. The smoke was determined to be coming from the house’s chimney, and firefighters investigated to make sure the fire had not extended into the chimney.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

Accident: At 6:55 a.m., firefighters and EMTs from Fall City responded with Eastside Fire and Rescue for a car accident in the 26000 block of S.E. Issaquah-Fall City Road. None of the occupants were injured.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

Broken wrist: At 1:14 a.m., firefighters and EMTs from Fall City assisted a 54-year-old patient who had fractured his wrist. They splinted the wrist and transported the patient to a local hospital.

Low blood sugar: At 6:48 p.m., a patient was walked into the fire station, with a friend who explained he had symptoms of low blood sugar. Firefighters treated the patient with oral glucose and juice, to bring his blood sugar up, then released the man.

Sunday, Feb. 21

Dishwasher fire: At 3:58 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters received a report of a dishwasher burning on Douglas Avenue S.E. The homeowner met the crew outside, saying the house had filled with smoke from the dishwasher. Firefighters cut the power to the appliance and went inside, where they found windows open and a slight smell of smoke. They also found a spatula burned to the heating element in the dishwasher.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

Cook fire: At 2:23 p.m., the department received a report of smoke in the area near Schuman Avenue S.E. They arrived and spoke with a resident who had built a three-foot-by-three-foot fire in a pit and was getting ready to cook. He said he didn’t have power in his home and cooked outside all the time. Firefighters advised him to extinguish the fire when he was done cooking.

Medical aid: In addition, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 19 medical incidents, for total calls to date of 134.
