Wednesday, Aug. 24

Vacuum Alarm: At 8:34 a.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the YMCA for a fire alarm. The crew arrived and found air duct cleaners at work in the building, vacuuming out the air ducts. They advised the manager to tell the alarm company to leave the alarm in test mode until the duct work was done.

Vacuum alarm 2: At 9:11 a.m., firefighters responded to a home where a smoke detector had been activated. The resident had been vacuuming an air duct vent next to smoke detector when it sounded. The firefighters found no smoke, but removed the detector to blow dust out of it, then reinstalled it.

Truck fire: At 1:23 p.m., the Snoqualmie department was dispatched to a truck trailer fire on westbound Hwy 18, east of Tiger Summit. They located the truck, a semi-trailer which had a brake fire going on both sides of its rear dual axles. They extinguished the flames and kept the fire from spreading to the trailer’s load.

Friday, Aug. 26

Bark fire: At 3:23 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to a bark fire in the median of the Snoqualmie Parkway near the golf course maintenance road. Snoqualmie Police arrived on the scene first and had stomped on the fire to extinguish most of it; firefighters used an extinguisher to finish the work. Only bark was damaged. In the burned area, about one foot by one foot, firefighters located a cigarette butt, which was the probable cause of the fire.

Burn complaint: At 8 p.m., the department responded to an anonymous complaint about an illegal burn in the middle of the roadway at Terrace and Raines. Firefighters found a fire made from clean fire wood and contained in a pit. The resident did not have any means of extinguishing the fire nearby and was burning in a public right-of-way. Firefighters advised them to put out the fire, which they did.

Monday, Aug. 29

Alarm test: At 9:33 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a residential automatic fire alarm on S.E. Jeffs Street. They arrived to find alarm technicians, conducting their annual tests.

Alarm test 2: At 3:22 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to another residential fire alarm on Merritt Avenue S.E. They again arrived to find alarm technicians, conducting their annual tests.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 16 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 761.

Thursday, Aug. 25

Fire: At 4:46 a.m., firefighters responded to an unattended burn and extinguished it.

Alarm: At 6:08 a.m., the department responded to an activation of a carbon monoxide alarm. Firefighters determined the alarm was caused by low battery power.

Friday, Aug. 26

Smoke: At 8:58 a.m., the department received a report of smoke in an area. They investigated and found the smoke was coming from a campfire.

Fall: At 1:09 p.m., firefighters assisted a 75-year-old woman who had fallen. She was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Burn: At 5:41 p.m., the department responded to a burn complaint. The crew found a small outdoor cooking fire.

Fall: At 8:19 p.m., firefighters assisted an 83-year-old man who had fallen. They treated him and transported him to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Overdose: At 10:46 p.m., the department was called to assist a 16-year-old girl who had overdosed on a chemical substance. She was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Sunday, Aug. 28

Accident: At 4:01 p.m., firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident. One patient was left at the scene with a guardian.

Smoke: At 6:29 p.m., the department received a complaint of smoke. They located the burn pile and had the homeowner put the fire out.

Accident: At 7 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident. They treated one patient and transported him to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Monday, Aug. 29

Weakness: At 3:53 p.m., firefighters assisted a 59-year-old man who was feeling general weakness. He was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Tuesday, Aug. 30

False alarm: At 5:55 a.m., firefighters responded to a commercial automatic fire alarm that turned out to be false.

Seizure: At 8:35 a.m., firefighters assisted a 59-year-old woman who was having a seizure. She was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Broken leg: At 11:01 a.m., firefighters responded to assist a 78-year-old man who’d broken his leg. He was treated and transported to an area hospital via private ambulance.

Wednesday, Aug. 31

Blood sugar: At 5:09 a.m., firefighters assisted a 61-year-old man who reported having high blood sugar. He was treated and transported to an area hospital via the Fall City Fire aid car.

Chest pain: At 8:57 a.m., firefighters responded to a 35-year-old man who reported chest pains. They examined the man, who then refused further care.
