Blotter | A swing and a miss; Police called to chase geese

Police and fire agencies in the Snoqualmie Valley responded to the following calls:

Snoqualmie Police Department (covering North Bend)

Friday, Oct. 16

Alcohol-related offenses: At 4:19 a.m., police received a report of a belligerent, unwanted customer on the 500 block of East North Bend Way, North Bend. The intoxicated woman tried to slap the clerk but missed. The subject left and the owner did not pursue charges.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

Hazardous roadway: At 6:22 a.m., police received a report of a flock of geese in the roadway of S.E. Cedar Street and S.E. Fir Street, Snoqualmie. The geese fled when confronted.

Suspicious circumstances: At 10:07 p.m., police received a report of a long sound that resembled a gunshot on Ash Avenue S.E., Snoqualmie. When police arrived they found nothing.

Tuesday, Oct. 13

Malicious mischief: At 9:30 a.m., police got a call reporting a rock being thrown through a window on the 14000 block of 468th Avenue S.E., North Bend. An employee of the establishment suspected a known subject. That subject was issued a trespassing notice.

Monday, Oct. 12

Suspicious circumstances: At 12:59 p.m., police received a call from a homeowner who said a black Volvo stopped in front their house on Spruce Place S.E., Snoqualmie and took pictures of the residence. They were gone on arrival.

Theft report: At 7:44 p.m., police received a report of a fake credit card being used to pay a taxi on Fern Avenue S.E. and Cottonwood Drive S.E., Snoqualmie. The suspect could not be found.

Theft in-progress: At 6:03 p.m., police received a report of a theft from the 400 block of South Fork Avenue S.W., North Bend. The shoplifter was accompanied by her mother and left, heading toward the freeway. Responding police knew the subject, who was charged via investigation.

Fall City Fire Department

Wednesday, Oct. 21

Unresponsive: At 9:48 p.m., EMTs with the Fall City Fire Department were called to the the 5100 block of 335th Lane S.E., where a 72-year-old man was reported as unresponsive. They evaluated the man and transported him to an area hospital

Pain: At 5:12 p.m., the department was called to the 4200 block of 341st Avenue S.E., where a 65-year-old woman was experiencing pain and swelling.  She was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.

Accident: At 3:40 p.m., firefighters responded to the intersection of 337th Place S.E. and S.E. Redmond-Fall City Road for a three-car rear-end-type accident. They evaluated five patients, and determined that none had significant injuries.

Monday, Oct. 19

Fall: At 8:28 a.m., Fall City’s aid car responded to the 4500 block of 329th Place S.E. to assist a 79-year-old woman who had fallen.  She was treated and transported to an area hospital by personnel.

Abdominal pain: At 5:42 a.m., EMTs responded to the 4200 block of Preston-Fall City Road for a report of a 37-year-old man experiencing abdominal pain.  He was evaluated and transported by ambulance.

Sunday, Oct. 18

Hip problem: At 2:38 p.m., the department was called to the 4400 block of Preston-Fall City Road to assist an 86-year-old woman who reported hip pain.  After treating the patient on scene and stabilizing her for transport, firefighters transported her to an area hospital.

Fainting: At 9:11 a.m., EMTs responded to the 27200 block of S.E. 19th Place, where a 46-year-old woman had experienced a fainting spell after taking medication. She was transported to an area hospital by ambulance for additional treatment.

Saturday, Oct. 17

Sick infant: At 6:31 p.m., EMT’s were called to the 33700 block of S.E. Redmond-Fall City Road, where a 2-week-old girl was vomiting. They evaluated the girl and transported her and her parents to an area hospital.

Friday, Oct. 16

House fire: At 7:29 p.m., firefighters responded to the 11000 block of West Lake Joy Drive for a residential fire. Multiple companies responded to fight the fire, which was burning on three sides of the home. All occupants were evacuated. The fire is under investigation.

Saturday, Oct. 24

Burning crust: At 8:22 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to an automatic fire alarm in a restaurant in the 7300 block of Better Way S.E. They arrived and found the alarm had been triggered by a burnt crust in an oven. They reset the alarm.

Thursday, Oct. 22

Faulty detector: At 4:11 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters were dispatched to Echo Glen Children’s Center for an automatic fire alarm. The crew determined that a false alarm had been set off by a malfunctioning smoke detector.

Gas odor: At 6:18 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to Pickering Court Apartments for a reported smell of gas in the area. They responded and contacted the apartment manager, as well as the person who reported the odor, a bus driver who noticed the odor when pulling into Pickering Court. The manager and residents confirmed that the odor was coming from a nearby wetland, and was normal.

Monday, Oct. 19

Smoke: At 1:56 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Newton West Apartments for a smoking electrical breaker box. Upon arrival, crews discovered one of the breakers was buzzing and smoking. They disconnected the breaker and left the power to the apartment off.

Friday, Oct. 16

Alarm: at 2:03 p.m., Snoqualmie firefighters responded to the Salish Lodge and Spa for a reported automatic fire alarm. When the crew arrived, they found the building occupied, but no alarm. A maintenance worker told them the alarm was triggered because a hood system was turned off while they worked on the HVAC system.

Alarm: At 9:03 p.m,, firefighters were dispatched to Silent Creek Avenue S.E. for a residential fire alarm. They found that a washing machine on the second floor leaked and water ran into the smoke detector, making it  malfunction.

Medical aid: In addition, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 14 medical aid calls bringing the total number of incidents to date to 1,106.
