In the last century, more than 50 men and women from the Cedar Falls, North Bend, Snoqualmie, Snoqualmie Falls, Meadowbrook, Preston, Fall City, Carnation and Duvall sacrificed their lives in service to the United States.

Valley veterans are building a memorial to these patriots at the Renton Pickering American Legion building in downtown Snoqualmie, honoring veterans from all conflicts involving United States troops.

Names of those who have lost their lives serving their country will be engraved on a monument that will be the centerpiece of the memorial. A courtyard surrounding the monument will be paved with bricks; there will be a stand of flags and a seating area for reflection.

The Snoqualmie Valley Veterans Memorial Committee continues to secure funds to complete the project. Bricks are available for purchase in honor of a veteran at www.post79.org or at the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum. Bricks cost $100, with all proceeds going toward the building of the monument.
