Applications open for farmer flood relief grants

Grants are available from the Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance.

Grant applications are now open for the Farmer Flood Relief Fund, aiding farmers impacted by December 2025 flooding in King and Snohomish counties.

The program is by the Snoqualmie Valley Preservation Alliance (SVPA), a Carnation nonprofit that runs Floodzilla. SVPA has been raising money for the fund for several weeks at wagives.org/story/floodrelieffund, with a goal of $200,000. As of Jan. 20, the fund was just over a quarter of the way there.

The first round of applications opened Jan. 16, and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Grant award decisions for the first round will be made by Feb. 15, and applications will be open through March 1. Apply at svpa.us/farmer-flood-relief-fund.

The fund is designed to provide quick support for farms’ pressing needs, like cleanup, repairs, replacement costs and labor costs. It is supplemental to and not intended to replace insurance payments or larger government assistance coming in the future.

“While this fund cannot compensate for all losses, it aims to help fill early gaps and support farms as they begin the recovery process,” an SVPA email stated. “We recognize that every farm’s situation is different, and we encourage farms to apply when they are ready.”
