The Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation will hold its second 5K Walk, “Wings of Courage” at Marymoor Park, Redmond, on Saturday, May 11.

Registration is at 8 a.m. for the 9 a.m. start. The awards ceremony will start at 11 a.m. at the east end picnic shelter. Walkers of all ages are encouraged to form a team, join a team or just take a “walk in the park” to benefit Angel Care.

Angel Care volunteers, all breast cancer survivors, provide one-on-one emotional support to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Serving the greater Puget Sound area, the services are provided free of charge.

Founder and Board Chair, Jan Harris, formed the organization 15 years ago when she experienced breast cancer and found little assistance for the emotional challenges of the disease and treatment.

“Many things have changed since then, yet the emotional support that helps the patient and loved ones is still needed,” she said.

Registration is $35 and can be done online at: www.firstgiving.com/angelcarebreastcancerfoundation/walk2013.
