NORTH BEND – The fate of the largest development project to occur inside North Bend’s boundaries since a building moratorium was established will soon be decided by City Council, albeit it a council with two less members.
A three-member North Bend City Council approved by a 2-1 vote the first reading of an ordinance allowing AF Evans Development Inc. of Seattle to build a 258-unit apartment complex. Council members Mark Sollitto and Ed Carlson voted to approve the first reading, while Councilman Bill Wittress voted against it at the Tuesday, July 9, meeting.
