“A Festival of Color!” is coming once again to Duvall’s Main Street. Join the fun on Saturday, September 28, to see a fantastic variety of quilts hung on the fronts, sides, and inside shops in Historic Duvall.

The Duvall Outdoor Quilt Show, Inc., a non-profit organization, is in charge of the show. The Quilter’s Garden and other businesses provide sponsorship for this colorful event. Diane Baker, the quilt shop’s owner says, as she does every year, “This will be the best show we’ve ever had!” Duvall’s own Cascade Quilters club is sponsoring a Centennial Exhibition, as well. Everyone who views the quilts gets a ballot to vote for their favorite. Anyone can enter a quilt. Quilter’s do their best to win the “Peoples’ Choice” award. In addition, awards are given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runners-up. Quilts made by children are entered into their own division. Antique quilts are placed indoors with story cards. You will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for raffle quilts brought by various non-profit groups.

Music will be provided in many locations this year. The “9-Piece Bavarian Dance Band” led by Don Duzan will play 2 sets starting about 1:00 pm across from The Quilter’s Garden. Wear comfortable shoes to dance the polka on the sidewalk! One block south, Foothills Academy (a classical music studio) will be showcasing their youth symphony by the Duvall Coffee House. Another block south on Main Street, you can stop to hear Jeff Zuber play guitar and sing in front of CC’s Espresso & Ice Cream, and later at Best Buddy Dog Wash. Greg Brooks will perform in the parking lot of Duvall Chiropractic. Don’t forget the Mariachi Band in the Ixtapa parking lot.
