Featured event: Community art supply swap
Local arts nonprofit North Bend Art and Industry (NBAI) is hosting its annual community art supply swap on Sept. 27.
This event, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., allows community artists and crafters to exchange used supplies. Swap shoppers can expect to find supplies for mark making, fiber materials, tools, substrates, craft materials, books and more.
NBAI co-founder Deb Landers said the swap benefits the community by providing a chance to to try new art forms or get materials for art forms that you enjoy cost free; reducing home clutter; and cultivating a sense of community, whether on the giving or receiving end of the swap.
“The event last year was a huge success with a plethora of art supplies collected and redistributed to those who attended,” said Ellen Rowan, Creative Coordinator.
The event will take place at North Bend Art and Industry’s Center for Creativity. All supplies are free, but donations to the nonprofit are appreciated.
Donations are welcome through Friday, but not on the day of the event. To donate, email nbai.art.supply.swap@gmail.com. Those who donate get early entry to shop the swap.
