Featured event: SnoValley Pride picnic
The third annual SnoValley Pride picnic is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8. The free event at Tolt Commons in Carnation will include live music, food and art-making stations, with booths from several local businesses.
This year’s live music performances include local artists Stephanie Anne Johnson, Brittany Davis, Xander Corbett and Elizabeth Hill and the Valley Folk.
The event will also provide free food for 500 people, courtesy of Carnation Cafe and Remlinger Farms, and over a dozen nonprofits will have free art activities.
The event also typically includes real-life “unicorns” that people can take photos with, said Gregory Jamiel, SnoValley Pride executive director.
“We want it to feel like a family picnic, so we don’t want people to pay for stuff,” Jamiel said.
Jamiel founded SnoValley Pride in 2023. He encourages all to come to the picnic, make friends and enjoy a nice afternoon together.
“We call it ‘the sweetest picnic in the valley,’” he said, “and that’s really what it has become.”
