Events across the Snoqualmie Valley will celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 5, an annual campaign that promotes community safety and relationship building between residents and police.
Snoqualmie and Carnation will have community events at Snoqualmie Community Park and Tolt Commons, respectively. In Duvall, police will visit various block parties in neighborhoods around town.
“In a world that often feels fast paced and disconnected, National Night Out offers a chance to pause and celebrate the relationships that form the backbone of safe, thriving communities,” the city of Duvall website said. “By coming together, residents and law enforcement build connections that inspire collaboration and confidence, fostering a spirit of partnership that lasts long after the event.”
• Carnation: Carnation’s event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Tolt Commons and includes hot dogs, live music, games and giveaways. Participating agencies include King County Sheriff’s Office, Carnation Duvall Citizen Corps, King County Office of Emergency Management, King County Flood Control District, several nonprofits and more.
• Duvall: Duvall residents were able to register their block parties around town for participation in National Night Out. According to the website, the city received an overwhelming number of registrations this year. Block party visits will be from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Snoqualmie: North Bend and Snoqualmie residents are encouraged to join the event at Snoqualmie Community Park from 5 to 7 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Snoqualmie Fire Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Snoqualmie Arts Commission will provide activities. Snoqualmie Ice Cream will provide complimentary ice cream and hot dogs.
