Mount Si Senior Center hosts key fundraiser, Sept. 30 at Si View

National Senior Center Month is celebrated every year in September, making it the logical choice for the Mt. Si Senior Center’s upcoming major fundraising event. Mt. Si Senior Center will host a fundraising dinner and auction, 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30 at Si View Community Center.

Community members can help in four ways, by attending, volunteering, donating items for the live and silent auctions, or simply donating money to the event.

Tickets are $40 per person, which includes dinner and entertainment. Visit www.mtsiseniorcenter.org to purchase tickets, become a sponsor, or make a donation.

Many of the seniors who utilize Mt. Si Senior Center are from the Snoqualmie Valley of old and have lived here for most of their lives, worked here and they and their children and grandchildren have attended school here.

Mt. Si Senior Center helps older adults maintain their dignity and independence as they age here in the Valley. The Center provides a community gathering place, balanced meals five days a week, exercise program, transportation, low-income senior housing at Sno-Ridge Apartments and other information and assistance.

The center serves people 50 and older, but it is the Valley’s oldest citizens who rely on Mt. Si Senior Center the most. The center’s clients include 50 percent of North Bend adults age 65 to 84 and over 75 percent of North Bend seniors over the age of 85, as well as 17 percent of Snoqualmie adults age 65 to 84 and 21 percent of Snoqualmie seniors over the age of 85.
