More than 50 artists will walk King County’s Regional Trails System over the course of four days, July 26 to 29, from Golden Gardens Park in Seattle to Snoqualmie Falls.

The Long Walk explores the King County Parks slogan “your big backyard.” This slogan suggests that parks and trails are our home; that we should feel content here. We should stretch out and roam. That is precisely what the Long Walkers will do.

It’s also a real-time art-making experience. Along the route, artists will experience a shift in their sense of time, a new understanding of the local geography, and the creation of an interstitial culture.

Reservations for this time-based, open-source, and socially engaged art event are available to the public starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, via Brown Paper Tickets. Participation is free and open to anyone 21+ who can hike an average of 18 miles/day. Learn more at www.thelongwalkseattle.com.
