Bands to battle

at Si View dance

Aiming to offers teens a fun, safe activity in the Valley, members of the Kiwanis, Key Club and Si View Metro Parks are holding a Battle of the Bands competition with five competing acts, 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Si View recreation center, 400 S.E. Orchard Drive, North Bend.

This time of year, there’s not much for youth to do, Kiwanis member Wendy Palmer said. The group hopes the upcoming fundraiser grows into regular activities for youth, giving teens to chance to “get out of the rain and get together,” she added. Besides the five bands battling, the event includes a dance, an emcee and a band to play in-between sets. Admission is $5, and is for ages 14 and older. High school identification is required for admission. Contact Si View Community Center at (425) 831-1900.
