History of Snoqualmie: Talk by Dave Battey is Saturday at local Y

Go back in time for a talk on the history of Snoqualmie, 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Snoqualmie Y, hosted by local historian Dave Battey. Battey explores the cataclysmic events in the Ice Age that created the prairie landscape the Snoqualmie tribal peoples found above the Falls. Pioneers settled beginning in 1858, the "Largest Hop Ranch In The World" covered the Upper Valley beginning in 1882 and the railroad triggered a town in 1889.

Go back in time for a talk on the history of Snoqualmie, 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Snoqualmie Y, hosted by local historian Dave Battey.

These and other topics will be discussed, and Battey promises plenty of time for questions and answers.

The new Snoqualmie Y provides the venue for Valley history presentations, and additional opportunities will be announced as they near.  Meadowbrook Farm Preservation Association and the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Society Museum are partners.

This is the same historical presentation that will be given on September 6th at the start of the 2012 Snoqualmie Citizen’s Academy.
