Morgan, present manager at the Cascade Branch of Weyerhaeuser Company, is leaving January 1 for Tacoma, where he has been promoted to manager of Weyerhaeuser Manufacturing Operations. Hayes is his successor. • In North Bend, library and street improvements will be voted on in a special election in March.

Monday, Dec. 23

• Arrangements are complete for a banquet at Si View Hall in North Bend to honor Mr. and Mrs. Harry Morgan Jr. and Mrs. Fred W. Hayes. • In North Bend, library and street improvements will be voted on in a special election in March.

• All peddlers, solicitors and transient merchants must be licensed and carry identification, furnished by the Snoqualmie Town Clerk.

• Bill Poch is the happiest 7-year-old in the Valley. He won the bike at the Weyerhaeuser employees Christmas party.

Dec. 22, 1988

• Riverview School District will ask voters to pass a bond issue in February for a new high school and remodel Tolt Junior/Senior High School into a middle school. The district is projected to grow by about 800 students as Duvall develops.

• The Valley’s first recycling center opened when a drop box for glass, newspaper and cardboard was set up next to Mount Si Senior Center.

• A public hearing on a proposal to replace Mountain View Golf Course with 300 homes saw 18 of 25 citizens say they’d rather not see that happen.
