Duvall launches passport to encourage visiting local farms

Those who complete a passport challenge by the end of the year can claim a prize.

Duvall has launched Passport to Duvall, a booklet in which holders can collect stamps from each of 23 local farms through Dec. 31 for the chance to win a prize.

The booklet is a partnership between the city of Duvall and the Duvall Historical Society and includes farms across the Duvall-Carnation area. Many of the farms are open year-round, while others are only open seasonally. The booklet also includes historical sites, like the Dougherty Farmstead, and The Grange farm-to-table restaurant.

Many of the farms are also part of the Snoqualmie Valley Sunflower Festival, running through Sept. 14, making it easy for visitors to kill two birds with one stone.

To complete the challenge, passport holders must collect five stamps and turn in their passport — with their personal information filled out — by Jan. 15. The prize for completion is a commemorative Duvall coin, which will be presented to winners at an award ceremony hosted by the Duvall Historical Society early next year.

Those who collect all 23 stamps will also receive an “I survived the Duvall Passport Tour” T-shirt.

Throughout the challenge, there will also be monthly challenges with chances to win prizes. Follow @duvallpassport on Instagram or Facebook to see what the monthly challenges are.

Passports can be picked up at any of the participating locations. It is recommended that guests check each individual farm’s website or social media pages for hours before visiting. Cook’s Farm in Carnation is already closed for the season.
