Duvall celebrates 25 years of SummerStage concert series

The city is hosting five outdoor concerts this year.

SummerStage, a city of Duvall tradition that brings locals together on warm summer nights along the banks of the Snoqualmie River, is celebrating 25 years.

This year, the concert series hosted at McCormick Park will span five weeks starting July 9. Most concerts will be on Wednesday evenings, ending with a 25th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Aug. 9. All events will include food trucks, giveaways from the city and a beer and wine garden by Rotary Club of Duvall.

The 2025 concerts will kick off with Prom Date Mixtape, a local 1980s music tribute band that drew in a crowd of nearly 1,000 people last year, according to Rita Moreno, Duvall’s community events coordinator.

Moreno is one of a small but mighty team that puts on Duvall’s cherished city events each year and works to get the word out, as the city does not currently have a staff member in a communications role.

“It’s definitely a team lift for us,” Moreno said. “We’re just all kind of pitching together. We try to make it happen.”

This year, in addition to making it happen, Moreno is increasing the fun factor of SummerStage. She is planning a themed giveaway at each concert, like free friendship bracelet-making for the performance of 13 Til Midnight, a Taylor Swift cover band.

Each week, she will also be giving out stickers of the Duvall bridge trolls. The four trolls, which line the bridge over the Snoqualmie River on NE Woodinville Duvall Road, were originally painted by local muralist Bruce Edwards and have become an iconic piece of Duvall culture.

Last summer, local artist Randy Berg returned the trolls to their former glory with a fresh coat of paint. This year, Moreno had each troll made into a sticker.

Each week of SummerStage, Moreno will hand out a different troll. Visit all of the shows to collect the whole gang.
