Celebrate Snoqualmie Library’s 10th birthday with day of activities Monday, Aug. 7

Snoqualmie’s “new” library is already 10 years old, and the organization will host an all-day birthday party to celebrate on Monday, Aug. 7.

Events start with a special dance party story time, for all young children, at 10:30 a.m. There will be a 3-D printer on display from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and, starting at 11:30, guests can get a tour of the staff work room. The 10-minute tours are offered on the half hour.

It wouldn’t be a party without cupcakes, so look for the pop-up cupcake shop, hosted by Laurie Pfalzer, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. At 2, Teen Friends of the Snoqualmie Library will put on a ukulele jam session, for ages 10 and older. Take your photo with Birthday Pikachu from 3 to 4 p.m., enjoy 8-Bit Birthday Cake from 4 to 5, and sit in for the Smilin’ Scandinavians polka band, performing from 7 to 8 p.m.

The birthday part is sponsored by the Friends of the Snoqualmie Library, the King County Library Foundation and 4Culture.
