Valley residents should get informed about hospital affiliation, debt | Letter

Recently the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital started the process to partner or merge with a larger hospital or healthcare provider. This is something that most if not all critical access hospitals are doing nationwide in order to ensure continued stability while providing better service. In the case of many such hospitals including Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, affiliation also means debt management.

The fourth of five planning meeting for the affiliation RFP is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday May 24, at the Snoqualmie Hospital with a public hearing scheduled the following Tuesday, May 30, at Snoqualmie City Hall.

Even though I’ve moved from the area, as a former Director of the Hospital Foundation I’ve remained involved, and most recently launched a citizen involvement website and facebook page. If you’d like to become informed, get involved and participate, please check out the SV Hospital Forum at https://sites.google.com/thescotttreatment.com/sv-hospital-forum/home.
