LETTERS: Volunteers, donators helped planting at Meadowbrook Farm

Published 12:55 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2011

On Saturday, May 14, 12 volunteers planted 58 indigenous plants on a berm near the Meadowbrook Interpretive Center on Boalch Avenue.

These volunteers responded to a local project organized as one of many throughout the nation created by Stanford University alumni as “Creating Community Beyond the Farm.”

I not only want to thank these enthusiastic volunteers, but also the Board of Directors of Meadowbrook Farm for saying “yes” to this project! I especially want to thank the Mountains to Sound Green-way and the Nursery at Mount Si in North Bend for donating plants to this project, which included snowberry, Nootka rose, sword fern, Indian plum, Pacific serviceberry, hazel and Osier dogwood.

May all the visitors to the Interpretive Center enjoy the beauty of these plants through the years.

The Rev. Mary Brown
