After nearly 38 years, Fall City resident Kathy Winter is retiring from the banking business. Winter started her career working for Seattle First National Bank in 1967 in North Bend. That building is now the city’s planning hall. In January of 1970, she transferred to the Fall City branch, which was located in what is now a King County library and known as SeaFirst Bank. Then in June of 1984, Winter transferred to Carnation when Bank of America consolidated the Fall City and Carnation branches more than 20 years ago.

Back when Winter started at the bank, she was a teller until she and her husband Vern adopted their two children, Kari Winter Hernandez and Kevin Winter. She worked part time while raising her family. She is retiring from the position of assistant manager.

The Bank of America Carnation branch at 4760 Tolt Ave. invites the public to a retirement celebration for Winter from 1:30-6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 30, 31 and April 1, to wish her well.
