SNOQUALMIE – The newest addition to the Railroad Avenue business district is hard to miss.

Verizon Wireless’ sleek corporate presence stands out among the mom and pop shops that line the thoroughfare. The store opened in mid-July.

Go Wireless, an authorized Verizon agent, bought the building at 8224 Railroad Ave. and is using the top floor as its regional corporate office. They decided to open a Verizon store in one of the the lower-level store fronts. Go Wireless is looking to rent out the other two store fronts next to Verizon.

The store offers phone sales and services including wireless service plans, accessories, upgrades, warranty changes and phone number transfers.

The store’s manager, Cody Templeton, an Auburn resident, said at first he thought Snoqualmie’s historic district would be slow for business, but his store has actually had a pretty steady stream of customers since it opened.

“We love Snoqualmie,” Templeton said. “It’s fantastic.”

Templeton is looking for a sales associate to join him and Norm, the gnome. Norm is the store mascot who is responsible for boosting morale on slower business days.

The regional president, the human resources department and the inventory manager for the regional Go Wireless office work upstairs.

Templeton said Go Wireless hopes to open 100 Verizon locations in Washington over the next year, and that they are looking to sell extended radio units, direct TV and many other wireless products.

Store hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
