North Bend has a new place to get your burrito on.

Brothers Jason and Geoff Lakman opened L Taco on Friday, April 2, at 202 North Bend Way, next to Birches Habitat.

Jason Lakman, a North Bend resident, is the main operator, serving up simple, affordable tacos, burritos and quesadillas.

The Lakman brothers grew up in Woodinville. Jason moved from Hawaii to North Bend a year ago. He previously owned and operated Island Taco on Maui, Hawaii, and wanted to bring his popular tacos to the Northwest when he returned to the area.

“I’m passionate about tacos and wanted to create something that would be fresh and delicious, while also being friendly to the pocketbook,” Lakman said.

Small tacos sell for $3 each and large tacos go for $5. Lakman aims to offers a fun, casual dining-in experience, along with takeout options for the lunch-time crowd. He also offers ice-cold beer and sodas.

The L Taco name is a play on Lakman’s name, and a spin of the Spanish word el, or “the.”

Running a business is a fun experience for Lakman.

“You get to interact with people every day, serve them good food and make them happy,” he said.
