Each year, Google examines the billions of searches from its users to get a glimpse of the spirit of the times. This year, Snoqualmie Casino ranked fourth for popular searches unique to the Seattle area.

In addition to city-by-city rankings, Google Zeitgeist 2009 also ranked popular search terms in categories such as news, celebrities, sports, entertainment, and home. According to Google, the data is compiled from multiple sources, including Insights for Search, Google Trends and internal data tools.

“We are quite pleased with the interest and response we have received in our opening year,” said Michael Barozzi, chief executive officer for Snoqualmie Entertainment Authority which operates Snoqualmie Casino. “Being ranked in the top 5 most popular searches in the Seattle area is a real testimonial to the interest in Snoqualmie Casino as well as SnoCasino.com.”

“Our operation is based on long-term growth, and we are operating at a strong growth rate,” continued Barozzi. “We have added millions of dollars to the economy of the Snoqualmie Valley, employing over 1,000 people. During a time of economic downturn, we have provided hundreds of vendors the opportunity to either grow their business or replace lost business.”

In addition to making the 2009 Zeitgeist list, Snoqualmie Casino also earned recognition in 2009 as the Seattle area’s top casino by readers of both 425 magazine and Seattle magazine.
