Battle for the bite: Vote for Snoqualmie Valley resident’s Pike Place food tour in contest

Snoqualmie Valley resident Jan Marie Johnson's Seattle Bites Food Tour has been nominated for the second year in a row as one of Seattle's best food-related tours.

Snoqualmie Valley resident Jan Marie Johnson’s Seattle Bites Food Tour has been nominated for the second year in a row as one of Seattle’s best food-related tours.

Valley residents can vote online for Johnson’s tour to take top honors in the 2010 Best of Northwest Escapes contest.

In the annual contest, local insiders can vote for and recommend their favorite businesses.

Johnson has given the tours for about a year and a half.

“My goal is for people to have a greater connection to Pike Place market and the city of Seattle, through the merchants, their food and the vibrant and complex history,” she said. “The tour is fun, informative, filling and fun!”

Her two-to-three hour tour explores nine merchants in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and the Seattle Art Museum, sampling everything from from smoked Lummi Island flatbread to wine and coffee.

Each guest receives a personal listening device so that they can hear Johnson’s commentary, plus an eco-friendly souvenir shopping bag.

Voting runs through Saturday, April 11. Learn more about the contest at http://best.king5.com/seattle-bites-food-tours/biz/179664
