Valley hospital asks for levy lift

Snoqualmie Valley Hospital will ask voters for a 30 cent levy lid lift this summer, a big part of the funding package meant to move the hospital to the Snoqualmie Parkway interchange at Interstate 90.
The levy increase will go before voters in an Aug. 21 primary election.
The new location will increase access to the hospital and its visibility. Plans also call for the facility to be nearly four times larger than the current hospital.
The hospital’s current property tax levy gets 45 cents for every $1,000 in property value.
Beside the lid lift, the other piece of the funding will come from sale of the hospital property.
