“Say something positive, and you’ll see something positive.” — Jim Thompson

David Lewis Wright from North Bend, Washington died on July 30, 2020. He was 84 years old.

Dave was born on December 1, 1935 in North Bend to Susie A. Wright, the only child to a single mom. At a very young age, Dave contracted polio, but he and his mom worked to overcome all the obstacles that life had thrown at them. Dave went through the school system in the Snoqualmie Valley, graduating from Mount Si High School in 1954. Dave was the baseball team manager, Cat Tales staff writer, Student Council, Track manager, and his ambition was to work.

Dave met and fell in love with Paula Taylor of North Bend, and the two of them whisked away to Idaho to get married at the Hitching Post on October 14, 1955. Dave and Paula then settled in North Bend where they have lived and lead well in the community the rest of their lives..

Dave and Paula raised 5 children, Dave, Andy, Kim, Greg and Monty. Dave worked various jobs over the years; Fred Lewis Ford, Washington State Patrol, Moller Motors and then entered into business ventures including The Little Chalet Café, The Tift Haus restaurants in North Bend, WA and The Little Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls. Later, you could find Dave working as the general manager for George Wyrsch at the North Bend Chevron until he retired.

If you ever asked Dave how he was doing, his answer was consistent, “FANTASTIC!”

Maybe he was your Cub Scout or Webelo leader, or you knew him through the old North Bend community of small business owners, it was hard not to like Dave.

He made you feel seen, served you with a smile, and could talk for hours and hours, especially about politics.

Dave made many ripples in the world by investing in the lives of others… His journey here ended Thursday July 30th, 2020, but he will live on in our hearts and memory.

“No one is actually dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away.” — Terry Pratchett

Dave was preceded in death by his wife Paula, and is survived by his children Dave Wright (Christy), Andy Wright (Diane), Kim Flack, Greg Wright (Socorro), Monty Wright (Amy).
