The Valley cities celebrated the holiday season in a big way this year, with community tree lighting events in both North Bend and Snoqualmie on Dec. 1.

North Bend’s Holly Days featured several community groups performing for spectators. Twin Falls Middle School Jazz Band, the Valley Center Stage, Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club, and Ignite Dance and Yoga were some of the groups performing.

Holly Days also had free tractor rides sponsored by North Bend Remax Integrity, and free photo opportunities with Santa Claus at Cook Real Estate.

Snoqualmie’s Winter Lights event featured several stage performances, as well as a cookie making booth operated by the Mount Si Culinary Club. King County Library also had a booth where children could write letters to Santa, and the Snoqualmie City Council gave out free cookies.

Snoqualmie Mayor Matt Larson, with the help of many local children, presented Santa with a key to the city just as they lit the large tree on the property.
