Athay places fifth

Nine-year-old North Bend gymnast Michelle Athay placed fifth in the 2002 Level Five state championships held recently at Inglemoor High School in Bothell. She scored an 8.3 on the vault, 9.15 on the bars, 9.75 on the beam and 9.3 on the floor, for a total score of 36.5.

Hoop camp fast approaching

The Mount Si Basketball Hoop Camp for boys is set for June 24-28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The camp is for boys entering grades three through eight next fall.

Cyclepath hosts competition

Cyclepath Bike and Board will be hosting the DLG Classic Skateboard Competition at the state’s newest skate and BMX park. Preregister by Saturday, June 1, at Frankie’s Pizza and Cyclepath in North Bend. The event will be held Sunday, June 2 at 1 p.m. The cost is $5 to register. There will be cash, skate decks and other prizes awarded to both sponsored and nonsponsored participants. The store is located at 119 W. North Bend Way. Call (425) 831-5130 for more information.
