Nine Snoqualmie firefighters participated in the March 12 Scott Firefighter Stair Climb event at the Columbia Tower in Seattle, which benefited the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society. The Snoqualmie firefighters raised $5,162 in local donations.

More than 2,000 firefighters from all around the region gather every year to climb 69 floors at the Columbia Tower in full firefighting gear. Eastside firefighters have participated in the event for almost a decade and have raised more than $250,000 in that time.

Lorrie Jones, Snoqualmie volunteer firefighter and team captain, said “There is no better feeling than reaching the top, celebrating with other climbers from all over the area and knowing the funds raised will help research and prevent blood cancers.”
