King Conservation District presents horse-keeping innovations workshop

Alayne Blickle of Horses for Clean Water, Michelle Bowker from Laughing Horse Farm and a guest presenter, Karen O’Keefe from Australia will lead a day-long workshop on the latest in horse keeping techniques, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, July 22, in Preston, 10820 Upper Preston Rd. S.E.

Learn about managing paddocks to keep horses healthy, mud-free and mentally stimulated, and how a trail course can function as a rain garden, mud manager and wildlife habitat. The free workshop will include a tour of a horse property with an expertly designed track paddock and trail course.
