Letter | Thanks for Winter Shelter blessings

Thank you, Snoqualmie, for hosting the valley's winter shelter these past couple of months.

Thank you, Snoqualmie, for hosting the valley’s winter shelter these past couple of months.

The caring attitude of residential neighbors, merchants, city officials, police, and various volunteer groups made for warm and reasonably secure hospitality at Snoqualmie United Methodist Church. We’re grateful to shelter guests, volunteers and staff for the blessings they’ve shared with us during their stay Jan. 8 to March 8.

The gift of meeting new people — alive in our difference and sameness — is always a big one.

As the shelter settles into its new short-term home at Fall City United Methodist Church, we are grateful for this ongoing community.

More information and volunteer opportunities can be found at the Snoqualmie Valley Renewal Center’s website, www.valleyrenewalcenter.com.

I regret that we need winter shelters, but while we do, I’m glad we can host them together.

The journey of discovering “Who is my neighbor? (Luke 10:19) continues.

Lee Carney Hartman, Pastor,
