Public hearing to extend cottage-zone moratorium is Monday

The North Bend City Council will hold a public hearing on extending a development moratorium at a special council meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15,at City Hall, 211 Main Ave. N., North Bend.
The city has had a six-month moratorium on development in cottage residential zones in place since Feb. 16. Council members agreed to halt all development in cottage-zoned areas to ensure that the city’s standards for this development aligned with the council’s vision for the city.
To extend the moratorium for another six months, the council must first hold a public hearing on the issue.
Citizens can comment on the issue in person at the meeting, or submit their comments in writing to the City Clerk at P.O. Box 896, North Bend, WA, 98045, or by e-mail to soppedal@northbendwa.gov.
